Walking Tour: Jewish Past
- Date: 01 May
- label.tijd 13:30
- Location: Startpunt bij Nieuwe Kerk
City walk with a guide from Gilde Den Haag. Walk with us through the vanished neighborhood, the area in the center of the city, where in earlier times many of the city's Jewish inhabitants lived and worked. With the guide's stories, the special history of this neighborhood comes to life. The start of the walk is at the Nieuwe Kerk and you end at the City Hall on the Spui.
The Jewish Quarter in The Hague was the neighborhood where most of the Jews in the city lived before World War II. The neighborhood was located behind the Nieuwe Kerk on the Spui, between the Stille Veerkade and Amsterdamse Veerkade, the Gedempte Burgwal and the Gedempte Gracht. Since the 1980s, this is where The Hague's Chinatown has been located.
