Faith in Human Rights Festival

  • Date: 08 December 12:15 - 17:00
  • Location: De Haagse Hogeschool

Next year will be the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, yet these rights are still violated in every part of the world. Human rights are not something far away, think about the CoronaCheck-app and the right to privacy, or the difference in salary between men and women and the right to equality. Subconsciously and indirectly, even you can contribute to a violation of human rights. For example, by buying clothes that are produced with child labour or by eating a bar of chocolate from which the cacao is harvested by slaves. But how do you know? How do you find out? And what action can you take yourself?

Human rights cannot be taken for granted. So, we have to remain vigilant and ensure that we live up to them. As accomplishing that starts with more knowledge and awareness, the festival ‘Faith in Human Rights’ will be held at The Hague University of Applied Sciences on the 8th of December.

Hearing stories from other people, participating in a workshop, and visiting an exhibition will show you that human rights play an important role in your life as well. You will be inspired and educated in how to cultivate a culture in education, organization, and society which has care and attention for human rights.
