Hague Voices on the important European Elections

From fertilizer to ammunition deliveries, European politics played the leading role in The Hague in recent months. How will the European elections affect The Hague? And what will a right-wing victory mean for Dutch engagement in Brussels?

A day before the European elections, three political experts dive into The Hague's view of Europe. Since the last European elections in 2019, the continent has changed radically. The pandemic and the war in Ukraine have put the EU in a very different light. What can be seen of this in the Lower House?

Led by presenter Vincent Rietbergen, the three experts tell what strikes them in the European election campaign. Who should become the new Dutch Eurocommissioner? And how will a new prime minister act at a European summit? In this edition of Haagse Stemmen you will hear all you need to know about the difficult relationship between Brussels and The Hague.

  • Joost Vullings is political reporter for EenVandaag
  • Europe correspondent Stefan de Vries for BNR Nieuwsradio and others.
  • The third guest will be announced soon.
  • Vincent Rietbergen is presenter of Haagsch College
