Since 2009, Stichting Move has been committed to creating equal opportunities, contributing to civic education and supporting the talent development of Dutch children and adolescents. Move also helps combat the divide between different social and cultural groups within Dutch society. We believe that encounters between different groups of people create a more inclusive society. When we get to know each other better, it creates mutual understanding, increases individual opportunities and reduces the divisions within society.

Move contributes to this through projects at primary and high schools, in which student volunteers organize an action with the children or adolescents for the people in their neighbourhood. The talents and interests of the children and adolescents play a paramount role in these projects. Examples of previous projects are a board game afternoon at local nursing home, a healthy lunch for the neighbourhood, and a self-made mural to brighten up the neighbourhood's streets.

To gain insight into our projects and to further develop them, Move investigates its impact through surveys, interviews and evaluations. Over 80% of VMBO (high school) students indicate that they feel proud and appreciated after their project. These students also want to do something for others more often and experience a lot of personal responsibility.

At Move, ownership and creativity are of paramount importance. We give the children and students space to prepare the action themselves, and they are encouraged to implement their own ideas and talents into the action from start to finish. Move supports the project process in different ways, from offering didactics training to volunteers to helping set up the activity.
