Vrijheidsmaaltijd: Boy Ecury, tribute to an Aruban resistance hero

Discover an afternoon of inspiration and dialogue at the Freedom Meal, organized by the Dutch Caribbean Book Club Foundation and the Central Library of The Hague.

This event brings 70 people together at the dinner table to talk about freedom and democracy, with the central theme being "Boy Ecury, an Aruban boy in the resistance.

In addition to eating together and engaging in dialogue, a program has been put together. For example, there is a lecture by Drs. Roderick (Roy) Pieters, former minister plenipotentiary of Curaçao in The Hague. He shares the story of resistance fighter Boy Ecury and places it in the context of other heroes such as George Maduro. There will also be music by pianist Alexander Kraft van Ermel. The afternoon's host is Goriaka Maal.
