Russia at war with itself and the world

What is life like in Putin's Russia? As one of the few Western correspondents, Eva Cukier remained in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, to report from the inside on the effects of the war, the repression and the propaganda and the Western sanctions on Russian society. On this evening, she will talk about her impressions and experiences in an increasingly repressive and belligerent Russia. She will also discuss the country's new position on the world stage and what we can expect from changes within Russia itself.

Eva Cukier (1981) is a Slavist, journalist and writer. She has been travelling Russia, Ukraine, Central Asia and the Caucasus for over twenty-five years. She has lived and worked in Moscow, Kyiv, Tbilisi and Berlin. She has been working for NRC since 2016

The evening is presented by Annette van Soest, journalist and presenter for Haagsch College, among others

The Ruzland evening in Nieuwspoort is a collaboration between Haagsch College and knowledge platform RAAM.
