What can you expect at our festival?
- A selection of around 90 human rights films: from short films to feature-length, from fiction to documentaries.
- In-depth programmes on human rights with activists, filmmakers, and experts.
Additionally:
- Various competitions where films vie for multiple awards, presented at our annual Award Night, open to all.
- Special themes to help navigate the programme.
- Context programming for most films: introductions, post-screening talks, and unique events like dance performances.
- Engagement with human rights activists, experts, and our audience.
- Opportunities to meet others, whether in the auditorium or at the bar after the film.
Programme
The Movies that Matter Festival 2025 will take place from March 21 to 29 in The Hague. The programme will be announced in phases starting at the end of February. The full film programme will be available online starting Wednesday 5 March.
Ticket Sales
Ticket sales for the festival will begin on Thursday 6 March. With a multi-ticketpass, you can already purchase tickets one day earlier, on Wednesday 5 March.
