Human Rights Festival
Under the motto Let the right of friend and stranger flow, we cordially invite you to an inspiring and multifaceted programme during the Human Rights Festival. Be touched, connect with others and discover the power of human rights.
Programme
Walk-in | 13:30 - 14:00 hours
Opening speech and water ceremony| 14:00 - 15:00
We will start with an inspiring opening speech by writer Edzard Mik on the power of human rights and togetherness. This will be followed by a special water ceremony, accompanied by singer Sanne Rambags and mesmerising water electronics.
Various activities | 15:00 - 17:00
The festival offers more than listening and watching. From workshops to encounters, there is something for everyone:
- Creative workshops (also for children)
- Interviews, lectures, dialogues and exhibitions
- Theatre and music
- Speed dates with Amnesty International on current human rights issues
- Conversations with migrants and undocumented migrants
- Young people share their insights on conscription
- Enjoying a variety of snacks and drinks
Dabke dance workshop | 17:30 - 18:30
Join the Dabke dance workshop, provided by VluchtelingenWerk Nederland, accompanied by the energetic live music of the Kimya Band. Dancing together connects!
Closing party and singing together | 19:00 - 19:30 hrs.
We will conclude the day festively with a performance by chamber choir Ilmatar, Sanne Rambags and other musical talents. Everyone is invited to sing along and end the festival together in harmony.
