Road to Summit, The Hague programme of Peace and Justice

The National Monument Oranjehotel aims to show a broad audience how fragile freedom is by raising awareness of what happened in the Netherlands during World War II, particularly in the 'Oranjehotel,' during and shortly after the war.

It highlights a period in which the Netherlands was directly confronted with war, occupation, dictatorship, and persecution, provides insight into the dilemmas this brought about, and connects these lessons to the present day.

Through a permanent exhibition, an educational program, and the organization of educational activities, events, and an annual commemoration, the NM Oranjehotel encourages reflection and provides insight into the importance and vulnerability of values such as solidarity, humanity, the rule of law, and democracy.
