Food Film Festival 2024

From November 15 to December 5, Our Food is organizing the 2024 Food Film Festival.

We are doing this with the films provided by FoodAnders. We are screening 6 films on 7 different evenings from the converted home of the Hague food movement De Gymzaal in the Witte de Withstraat in The Hague. And we do this for and together with: Lekkernassûh, Foundation Lifestyle as Medicine, Slow Food Youth Network, Conscious Kitchen (from the Helena), De Gymzaal and for our own association of course.

Why this Food Film Festival?

We, as association Ons Eten, have made it our mission to act as a catalyst to help (existing) food initiatives and organizations grow their movement. In doing so, we continue to build bottom-up on a food movement committed to realizing a different food system. A food system where access to affordable, healthy and local food is available to all. Where everyone can participate and where together we ensure, that our food environment is healthy. And where we reconnect with the place and the people who make our food. That connection creates more awareness about what choices we make on our plates.

To inform, enthuse and inspire people about what we can do to grow towards such a healthy and sustainable food system, we are screening six compelling films from November 10 to December 12. After seeing inspiring films about change, engaging in conversation is a great opportunity to give people tools to start working on that change themselves in their own environment. We organize this festival from Vereniging Ons Eten Den Haag during the Food-Film.Fest.NL and ensure that films are screened at 7 moments in total.

Inspiring stories

We tell inspiring stories about the challenges and solutions for our food in the future in an accessible way. The festival offers not only reflection, but also action perspectives for a fairer and more sustainable food system. We will talk to each other about what we are up against and what could be done differently and we will discuss ways to do this as individuals or together as a neighborhood.

Food organizations in The Hague

Vereniging Ons Eten strengthens initiatives and organizations that are building a sustainable food system for The Hague. By organizing the film festival we increase the attention for food in The Hague, we bring the constituencies of six organizations in The Hague in contact with each other and we provide substantive connection around food by organizing an after discussion. In addition, we strive, with this festival, to give the food classroom the Gymzaal (at the Witte de Withstraat) a good start as the renovated home of the Hague food movement.
