A Hague Peace Expedition: Tour 125 Years The City of Peace and Law

  • Date: 20 May
  • Location: Stadhuis Den Haag

Discover The Hague as the city of peace and justice with guide Martin Born, Manager of International Relations at The Hague Municipality.

In 1899, The Hague was the center of attention for a while. Representatives of the 26 most important countries at the time met in The Hague to agree on how future conflicts could be resolved peacefully. This event ensured that in the years that followed, The Hague slowly but surely transformed into the international city of Peace & Law that it is today.

During the tour made especially of the 125th anniversary of the peace conference, you will be led past various locations where the delegation members stayed then and other important historical sites in The Hague. You will also learn exactly what the first Hague Peace Conference entailed and what the results were.

The tour lasts approximately one hour and starts at The Hague City Hall.

The tour starts at City Hall of The Hague (Spui 70).
