The Chemical Weapons Convention

The Chemical Weapons Convention is the most successful disarmament treaty, eliminating an entire class of weapons of mass destruction. It comprehensively bans the development, production, stockpiling, transfer, and use of chemical weapons. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is responsible for its implementation. The OPCW is based in The Hague, The Netherlands.
